The Gokinjo Monogatari TV started being shot in 1995, Junji Shimizu was the director. Masahiro Kawasaki wrote a soundtrack for the anime. The series consists of 30-minute episodes totaling to 50. It's a comedy series with drama, romance, slice of life elements.

1996 saw the anime Gokinjo Monogatari movie release based on the manga Neighborhood Story by Ai Yazawa released in 1995. Ai Yazawa began working on it after finishing Paradise Kiss. The music is written by Masahiro Kawasaki who also wrote music for Gokinjo Monogatari TV.
